Overview
With a global reputation for excellence and a dedication to high-quality service, Conergy engaged ideate to help them create real impact and gain meaningful market share in the UK. What began as a brand refresh and asset creation project quickly evolved into a full-service engagement — spanning digital strategy, PR, website development, interactive experiences and rich media content.
The challenge was a familiar one for companies operating in technical sectors: Conergy’s product and service offering was genuinely world-class, but communicating the benefits of solar energy to a UK consumer and business audience required clarity, creativity and a willingness to simplify without dumbing down.
Brand Refresh & Asset Creation
We started with a thorough review of Conergy’s existing brand positioning in the UK market, looking at how they were presenting themselves relative to competitors and what the audience actually needed to see and hear. From this foundation we developed a refreshed visual identity and a new suite of marketing assets, giving the UK operation a coherent, confident presence across all touchpoints — from exhibition materials to digital collateral.





Shining a light on Conergy
Working closely with teams in both the UK and USA, we developed and implemented a PR strategy designed to raise consumer awareness of Conergy’s brands and services, build and strengthen relationships with key media, and promote their solar farm installations to a broader audience.
The strategy positioned Conergy not just as a supplier of solar technology, but as a credible and forward-thinking voice in the UK’s renewable energy conversation, an important distinction in a market where trust and expertise are key purchasing drivers.
Turning Conergy Blue into Green
A central part of the project was the creation of a new flagship website, one that would generate genuine talking points rather than simply inform. To demonstrate that Conergy truly practised what they preached, we proposed an idea that became the centrepiece of the digital strategy: powering the UK website entirely from one of their own solar installations.
Running on solar, wind and battery energy, the website allowed visitors to view real-time data showing exactly how much power was being generated and the savings achieved by operating off the grid. It was a powerful proof point, turning the website itself into a live demonstration of Conergy’s technology and values.



Mapping Out a solar farm
We developed a panoramic virtual solar installation portal, giving visitors an immersive, interactive way to explore how a solar farm actually operates. Users could move around the screen to discover different elements of the installation, with contextual information appearing as they navigated, making a large-scale infrastructure concept genuinely accessible and engaging.

Clarity through creative
To support communication across the full range of channels, we created a new system of icons and infographics designed to convey complex information in a more immediate, visual way. These were rolled out consistently across the website, in animations, at exhibitions and across printed materials, giving Conergy a visual language that made technical content feel approachable without losing its authority.



Bringing a complex matter to life
Rich media, animation and film sat at the heart of our content strategy. Our standout piece was the Autarky animation, a jargon-free, light-hearted film that explained the benefits of solar energy in a way that resonated with a broad audience, from homeowners to business decision-makers.
By combining storytelling with technical accuracy, we gave Conergy a content asset that worked equally well on the website, at events and across social and PR channels doing the hard work of education in a way that felt effortless to the viewer.
The Outcome
The project transformed how Conergy showed up in the UK market, from a technically strong but hard-to-reach global brand into an accessible, credible and distinctly innovative presence. The solar-powered website in particular attracted significant attention, earning coverage and conversation that a conventional website launch simply wouldn’t have generated.
