Creative campaigns from the first idea to everything people see
Every campaign should have a job to do. We start with who you need to reach and what they need to hear, find the idea that will make them notice, then make what it needs.
How a campaign comes together
Four stages, from who it is for to what it achieved.
Campaigns we have launched include Juju, Loop for Table Tennis England and Maxell, and the GLAA’s film on modern slavery.

One idea, many pieces: One idea people remember, and the pieces that carry it wherever your audience looks.
Audience and aim: We agree who the campaign is for, what they need to understand and what you want them to do next.
The idea: We develop a range of creative concepts and take the one you choose into a campaign plan.
Make the assets: Film, photography, print, social content, advertising, events and the landing pages the campaign sends people to.
Launch, report, refine: We launch it, report on what it does and keep improving it while it runs.

What a campaign can be made of
- 01
An idea that proves the point
To show Conergy really did walk the walk, we proposed powering its UK website from one of its own solar installations.
- 02
Something people can join in
For water2business we organised sustainability seminars and workshops with businesses across the South West. The discussion became a white paper.
- 03
Social that gets people talking
Juju’s launch reached its audience through social networking pages and online radio.
- 04
Events and PR
Juju’s launch toured UK festivals in a converted ice-cream van. For Table Tennis England we wrote PR toolkits that showed Loop’s ambassadors how to work with the press.
- 05
A film at the centre
The film we made for the GLAA was released at its annual conference, with 5,000 USB keys, leaflets, posters and cards to carry it through its network.

Data people can take in
As preferred agency supplier to the Energy Saving Trust, we worked on animation, infographics and marketing materials that bring data and copy to life.
Photography made for the launch.
Maxell asked us for a website and launch campaign that would position its premium headphones as the next must-have, for customers and retailers alike.
We ran product and lifestyle photo shoots, creating aspirational images for both digital and in-store use. We designed the website around them and launched it Europe-wide in 15 languages. In-store POS, sales material, press packs and packaging carried the same look.

Questions about campaigns
Are you an advertising agency?
Not in the traditional sense. We are a full-service, human-centred design agency, and advertising can be one part of a campaign we make. The work starts with the idea and the people it is for.
Do you make the content as well as the idea?
Yes. For Staffline we created the content for the site’s launch, including rich media, film work, photography and copywriting. For Table Tennis England we made the photographic stories and the launch film.
How do you know if a campaign worked?
We agree what it is for at the start, then report against it as it runs. Campaign planning, reporting and optimisation are part of our marketing work, so a campaign can be improved while it is live.
What does a campaign cost?
It depends on the audience, the channels and how many pieces the idea needs. We take on defined projects, such as a campaign, as well as ongoing support. Our free marketing audit is an easy first look at where you stand.
“Hayley, Simon and the Ideate team excelled at quickly understanding our product and campaign objectives and created a marketing campaign, launch material, website and social media presence to help us achieve our sales targets and raise brand awareness. Continually coming up with ideas and creative solutions, they are professional, enthusiastic and fun to work with.”
